Hello Friends,
Have you completed you bachelors?
Are you seeking methods to evolve in higher studies based on your experience,
then please read this you will find it useful!
So, since you have completed your
bachelors after 4 years of hard work, you should be seeking a job actually it
is fine to do so because the hard work should be paid off.
Actually, it is a good ploy
because what should be done is to find methods to apply what you have learnt on
the field and most importantly to seek what is applied and what is not.
If you are in the field of
engineering it is a must that you join the industry to enhance your theoretical
knowledge in the field.
So, the topic was whether to do an MBA or an MSc?
As an initial step let me tell you
what an MBA and what an MSc is,
Basically, MBA is a master’s program
that gives its students a learning outcome of business outcome strategies, that
is, a person following this will know how a business is run what are the strategies
used, marketing concepts, methods using business strategies, things like that,
you will be learning thing on Management Basically.
In an MSc what you will learn is an
extended version of what you did in your bachelors, that is you will be further
study on a detailed approach of what you have learnt while applying those
theories in practical in the industry.
For a person who has done
management for a degree the natural flow is to go with an MBA after his bachelors,
but if you have done a degree in science or Engineering, there are many aspects
that you will want to know before going through this.
The first tip that I have is to work for at
least a year after your graduation before commencing your masters, by that you
will get a brief overview of what you need to know.
This is not the case if you are
trying to be a PHD candidate, then you should naturally follow an MSc immediately
after completion of your bachelors.
Let’s say that you worked for a
year and you are about to choose.
If you are an Engineering graduate
I would say to go on with an MSc because in practice I know that what you have
learnt in you BSc may not be enough to withstand the pressure of the industry,
the modern trends, the method of evolution of the industry etc.
An MSc gives you a practical
knowledge on how to use what and where.
If are a technical person you
should be sound in your technical background to do this extended knowledge is
essential.
Therefore, what I would recommend
is to do an MSc before an MBA.
There is and Advantage with this
as well.
That is if you do an MSc it will
take about 2 years, by that time you will be moving up the management ladder.
After its completion you will have
a better view on what to learn and what you need to know in management aspects
to move forward in your life.
Because if you are technically sound
there will not be any situation where you will lack in knowledge in what you
have the expertise at.
Once the initial stages of your
career are over it is management, that is managing people for this you need a
good technical knowledge and the improvement in things like soft skills, communications,
strategic methodologies can be developed in your MBA.
The other thing is that if you
start off on an MBA after your BSc then there is a very less probability that you
will follow an MSc in the future, so what will happen is that you will lose
what you need to know to be that person who may excel in technical aspects.
So, what is your decision? What
will you do after bachelors? Was this article useful in your decision? Comment
